Coronation Hall - East Grafton, Nr Marlborough, Wilts SN8 3DB
This Village Hall serves our 5 hamlets. The group of hamlets consititutes Grafton Parish and recently our Village Hall was taken under the wing of our vibrant Parish Council.
Why are we fund raising now?
Grafton, like so many other parishes, is witnessing a revival of community involvement.
Our Village Hall was built in 1938 (yes, an earlier coronation than many assume) following donations from local farmers and land owners.
The Coronation Hall has always been a registered charity, passing through many loops to retain this status within changing legal structures and requirements over the years.
For the past 80 years the Hall has retained its original roof, original heaters and much more. Careful fund raising and significant local effort have ensured that the building stands today.
Unfortunately the fabric of the Hall has now aged to the point where drastic action is required.
Residents of the Parish have worked tirelessly to raise funds so that the community can, once again, enjoy a warm, dry, safe and accessible Hall.
The Parish Council is extremely grateful for all the efforts which so many people have contributed to this project so far.
If you should find yourself in Grafton at any of our events then may we welcome you to our Parish and wish you a very enjoyable and memorable time!
