Pictures of a very special day at Salisbury Cathedral on 1st May 2012 when Her Majesty The Queen visited the Pewsey Area tent as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Her Majesty, The Queen visited Wiltshire’s Diamond Jubilee Celebration Event which was a great day out and enjoyed by many. It took place at Salisbury Cathedral on 1st May 2012 and the Pewsey Area tent was 1 of only 3 that the Queen visited on the day.

The materials from the day are available for parishes in the Pewsey Area to use for example at schools and fetes.

Communities across Wiltshire showcased their history, treasures and produce in medieval-style tents and there were performances by regency dancers, a medieval re-enactment and a falconry display.

Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh attended the event and visited the Pewsey Area's Tent!  The Pewsey display included a timeline banner of events in the area from King Alfred onwards, themed posters including Crofton and Wilton Windmill, a beautiful, hand-painted map by June Pearson, Wiltshire Horn Sheep from Stanton, tastings of lardy cake courtesy of Marshall's Bakery in Pewsey and a grumpy, 19th century miller going by the name of Peter Lemon!

The display materials are available for parishes in the Pewsey Area to borrow for schools, meetings, groups, fetes and so on - click here to book the materials.
